Certificates of Achievement and Suggested Completion Schedule

We offer seven (7) certificates of achievement that require several semesters to complete. These certificates were formerly known as career certificates. To get occupational information on certificates offered in our area, you may want to look at the Occupational Outlook Handbook produced by the Federal Bureau of Statistics. Also, search the California Occupational Guides for a career that interests you.

Click on the link for each certificate to obtain the Curriculum Guide, which lists the requirements for each certificate and a suggested schedule to complete courses.

Benefits of Completing a Certificate

  • The curriculum guide for each certificate provides a schedule and guideline of courses to take for a specific field of interest to prepare for an entry-level position.
  • A certificate often fulfills an employer’s requirements for advanced training.
  • A certificate adds to qualifications when completing job applications for office positions.
  • A certificate of achievement fulfills partial requirements for a program of study leading to an Associate of Arts degree.

If you have any questions regarding the certificates, please talk to any faculty member in the department.
